KIHE 2014 Exhibition presented the latest developments in healthcare industry

KIHE 2014 Healthcare Exhibition was held in Almaty on 14-16 May. More than 300 companies from 25 countries of the world have presented 400 brands in two pavilions of Atakent Exhibition Centre on the area of 8,000 sq.m. Germany and China have presented national stands containing mainly the expositions of medical devices manufacturers, equipment and medical products. The group of companies from Russia and Turkey have been widely presented.

The basis of KIHE 2014 exposition constituted manufacturing companies and distributors of medical equipment. Domestic companies have presented along with the medical equipment the medicinal products, disinfectants, innovations in dentistry and orthodontia, expendable materials and others.

Minister of Public Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan Salidat Kairbekova in her greetings to the participants and guests KIHE 2014 has noted: "Today Healthcare Exhibition is one of the largest dialogue platforms in Kazakhstan, where the world-known and national manufacturers of new treatment and diagnostic technologies, medical and pharmaceutical products participate actively. The annual exhibition gives the excellent opportunity to find out more about the innovative achievements in healthcare, new medical and scientific perspectives, highly technological treatment methods, and information interchange regarding the measures directed on the improvement of health of the citizens of Kazakhstan".

Deputy Akim of Almaty City Zauresh Amanzholova has noted in her welcome speech to the participants: "Each year we are looking forward to this event with special gratitute. The exhibition is being held already for 21 year and each year the number of participants and countries is increasing. Expectations of the exhibition are as follows: to see everything modern, learn about the latest innovations in healthcare industry, show own achievements".

Achievements of modern medicine at KIHE 2014 have been also appreciated by Deputy Chairman of the Committee of Control of Medical and Pharmaceutical Activities of the Ministry of Public Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan R.A.Nurmakhanov, Head of Healthcare Department of Almaty City Administration Zh.K.Kasymzhanova, Chairman of the Board of the Public-Private Partnership Project Support Centre LLP Y.A.Birtanov, Head of Republican State Enterprise of the Department of consumer rights protection of Almaty City Y.Y.Durumbetov, President of the Association of International Pharmaceutical Manufacturers in the Republic of Kazakhstan, V.N.Lokshyn, as well as by other managers of medical and pharmaceutical associations, officials and representatives of various public healthcare structures, ambassadors extraordinary and plenipotentiary and representatives of the diplomatic missions of participating countries of the events.

The Exhibition has been visited by 3,500 professional representatives of healthcare industry, 98% of which have successfully implemented the goals, mainly, on search of new manufacturers and partners (data polling).

General Director of private clinic of Shymkent City (Southern Kazakhstan) Toreaym Sultanova: "We have opened in Shymkent City a private clinic in partnership with the government, as the polyclinics are not able to serve the population in time. We are trying to use only new medical devices and equipment that helps us to serve patients quickly and efficiently. We have been visiting the Exhibit for many years already and each time we find new partners and new equipment suppliers. At the Exhibition you can personally meet the representatives of different companies and not to spend your time and effort to search them in the directory".

Round Table on the topic "Development of the Public-Private Partnership in Public Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan", that successfully passed out in the framework of KIHE 2014, should be specially noted. At the meeting, the participants have acquainted with the latest innovations in the sphere of statutory regulation, the measures of public encouragement and financial support for public-private partnership in the Republic of Kazakhstan, public-private partnership initiatives in the field of public health service.

Section Medical Tourism Forum was presented for the first time at KIHE 2014. The basis of its exposition includes 29 clinics and healthcare centres from Germany, Spain, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Turkey, Switzerland and South Korea. Co-organizer of project is the Global Healthcare Travel Council (GHTC). Brilliant partner of the events is the Turkish Healthcare Travel Council (ТНТС).

As recreation neurotherapist Stefan Schuko of Kliniken Sсhmeider clinic noted: "We have found many new partners among the large number of visitors, although we participate in the Exhibition for the first time. Neurological patients of any severity levels both in acute and in rehabilitation phase may be treated in the network of our private clinics Sсhmeider. We develop individual curative program for each patient, furthermore we stabilize and train his motor functions, improve his verbal ability and memory functions, as well as jointly overcome psychological consequences of his illness or injury.

Traditionally business program of KIHE 2014 included seminars, master-classes and presentations on the latest innovative technologies in healthcare industry, which have been held simultaneously in three conference rooms. The official partner of Business Program was company Philips, which have presented "Discussion on Ultrasonic Technologies in Modern Physician's Work on the Example of Philips Products".

The Korean Health Industry Development Institute, KHIDI representation branch, has organized a business meeting between Korean companies and KIHE 2014 Exhibition participants in the format B2B.

KIHE 2014 was officially supported by the Ministry of Public Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Akimat of Almaty city, Healthcare Department of Almaty City Administration, National Medical Holding JSC, Association of International Pharmaceutical Manufacturers in the Republic of Kazakhstan, National Medical Association of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
